| After the Heresy and subsequent
destruction of the Emperors Children, Vuaas retreated from the wrath of the
other Legions with a small remnant of his Company. Over the interviening time, he has worked to preserve the strength of his Company, by not getting into protracted conflicts. Recently (that is, within the last 3 or so thousand years), he has hatched a scheme to rebuild his legion. 2500 years ago, he was fortunate enough to capture a Cannoness and an Imperial Arch-Redemptor. Impressed with these physical specimens of human-kind, he resolved to break them, and turn them into faithful companions. He set about a slow and painful regime of torture and mental conditioning. After 500 years of this, his 'pets' kept alive by the baleful influence of the Eye of Terror, they were his, body, mind and soul. His initial plans had been to breed them, for good puppies, them to be given to his lieutenants to be trained. However, the very idea of these ideals of humanity, and the ability to condition them from birth to be the perfect soldier, has led him to attempt to capture more specimens, so as to rebuild his broken legion. The male children are taught from birth of the glory of Slaanesh and the perfection of the Emperors Children, and the females are put back into the breeding camps. Rather than recruiting from a planetary populace as they once did, they can now groom their potentials from almost the beginning. Of course, the entry requirements are even more stringent than once they were, and so the members of his warband have a reasonable supply of slaves with which to amuse themselves, in whatever way they see fit. Vuaas seeks to expand his breeding stock, and is now setting off on forays to gather more resources. After a battle, they will comb the field to locate fallen commanders and others who have been proven worthy. They will succumb to the same fate as his original set of breeding stock, who even now fight beside their lord with an animal ferocity, their loyalty never wavering. |
